This "game" was en vogue around here 10-15 years ago. Some punk from Cambridge tried to take out a guy who turned out to be one of the captains of Harvard's boxing team. It didn't end well for the kid.

Yeah, that's what the D.A. thought. The kid was arraigned from his hospital bed. I think the Cambridge cops took up a collection to help the boxer pay his tuition.

Reminds me of a story from law school.  We were playing in a softball tournament sponsored by U. Va.  While walking to a bar (go figure), this woman runs up to our group, tells us her cousin had just been stabbed and asked for help.  Naturally, my former cop instincts kick in and I run over to help.

When I get there, I find two guys on the ground.  The guy on top has the other guys arm bent so far behind his back, his elbow was almost touching his shoulder blade.  Over and over, the guy on the bottom kept saying, "dude, break my arm and we'll call it even."

Turns out the guy on top was the one who had been stabbed (pretty badly actually).  He also happened to be a Green Beret who was on leave.  Lesson of the Day: if you're going to stab a Green Beret, you had better kill him.  Otherwise, you just piss him off, and that isn't a good thing.

A similar thing happened on the mean streets of Jakarta.  I wasn't there but a friend told me the story of some local punks pick a fight with a white guy walking along with his Indonesian wife/girlfriend.  White guy being some sort of marine/special forces type of guy.  One of the punks through a punch at the guys face, which he caught in his hand and then proceeded to twist the guys arm around and throw him against a wall, by which time the other punks had vanished like those soldiers who ran into Shrek while chasing the donkey.

Too bad this old man wasn't, in fact, the old guy in the original Karate Kid.  Very messed up that punks are walking into nice neighborhoods and killing old people just for sport.  Sounds a little bit like Mad Max.
