Brandon Phillips really is a good guy ...

P-D:

Yappy Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips -- who helped incite the brawl between the Cardinals and Reds last season by calling the Cardinals “whiny bitches† before a three-game series in Cincinnati -– appears to be at it again.

No sooner had the Reds' plane touched down in St. Louis for this weekend’s series before Phillips took to his Twitter account to take a few jabs at St. Louis . . . though these were much tamer than last year’s comments.

Here’s what Phillips had to say in his Twitter posts:

FIRST POST: Just landed in St. Louis! (Sad face) ... But these wins will make me happy! On our way 2 the hotel & I hope its not Hilton at the BallPark! Lol

SECOND POST: My teammates ask me if I knew where some good places 2 eat at in St. Louis! I said, “Yea, come with me 2 the store 2 get some Lunchables!â€

Phillips' posts on Twitter can be followed at DatDudeBP.

Phillips may want to get used to St. Louis. The Airport was devastated tonight by a tornado. Sounds like it will be closed for a while. Hope he bought a bunch of lunchables.

I'm listening to the game on the radio and watching emergency vehicles go back and forth down our street. Apparently the tornado hit a nursing home about 1/4 mile from our home. Based on the back and forth, I assume there's an evacuation plan in progress.

Michele and the kids were going to go to church tonite but stayed home. The church had it's steeple blown off.

sorry to hear about your woes in st. louis.  the airport mess is now front page news.

but the silver lining is the good guys won and BP can ask around and see if anyone leads him to Manhattan Cafe.

You guys got it bad.  I dont believe it was that bad here last night but I guess daylight will tell.  I thought the storm a few days ago was worst.

Re: Brandon Phillips really is a good guy ...

We're fine, but hearing a lot of stories about families our the kids' classmates that weren't as lucky.

We got power back about 4:30. Our phones all require electricity, so I sat in my car, listened to the game and recharged my cell phone figuring it would be our only phone for a bit.

Amazing thing is it sounds like we got by with just property damage. No reports of any deaths yet which seems pretty remarkable.

Good to know you're OK. I guess the airport is re-opening Sunday, so Phillips won't have to live on 7-Eleven cuisine longer than he expected.
As much as I complain about winter lasting until mid-May here, I've never heard a tornado siren. I can't imagine too many things more terrifying.

It's funny what you get used to. The sirens went off 3 different times. We never even went to the basement.

We may need to rethink that strategy in the future.

Standing and watch at a window is what I am normally doing.  I figure if I see a tornado I will grab the kids and go to the basement.  I jut hte to wake them up and then deal with them all night for a 15 minute storm.  I wonder how easy it would be to see a tornado at night?

i've lived with tornado sirens and with suicide bombers, and it's a toss up.  i suppose had i been around when the bombs went off i would find the choice easier.  even so, as fors wrote, it funny what you can get used, and we had full bomb inspections to get in and out of our complex for a few years there.  my oldest girls school was just outside the perimeter, so we'd walk back and forth through that twice a day, smiling and waving to guards with the mirrors and bomb detectors.

Yikes. My wife slept through a hurricane once, but it was only a category two.
