Don't know how. Don't care. Having too much fun to analyze.

Who finished the game? Was listening on the radio. Shannon said Sanchez twice and Salas three times.
LOL
It was Salas.

Never mind, Ijust read the other posts.
There are times when Shannonisms are cute. Today it was frustrating. I wonder if he know Salas and Sanchez are 2 different pitchers.

"I wonder if he know Salas and Sanchez are 2 different pitchers."
Of course he does. One of them is left-handed, after all ...

now THAT is putting today's chances at risk in the interest of being much better by august.
some ONE has to go, assuming there's no role for auggiestein (otherwise some TWO would have to go). seniority says it should by sanchez, or maybe salas. THAt would be foolhardy the way the bullpen is pitching. So he needs to give franklin and/or batista enough rope to hang themselves, or else prove they deserve to be on the staff. frank(lin)y i think la russa has already succeeded in allowing franklin to hang himself, it should be he who gets a slow boat to memphis, but that has to be a very hard decision for moz to make.
that's my thought, anyway. combine if you will with fors' observation that this is a fine time to take a day off.

Going only from the description on Gameday, it looked like every ball except's McCann's was well-hit.
One of the inside jokes I have with myself is how every home run is on a flyball to DEEP right/center/left/etc., as if a homerun could be somewhere other than the DEEP part of the outfield.

Whether or not Franklin deserves to go (and I think we all agree he does), one thing that you can fairly safely assume with Larussa--he's loyal to a fault. It's extremely unlikely Franklin is DFA'd
I still think he ends up on the DL unless another injury frees up a spot.
I agree, we've seen the last of Augenstein. Barring other injuries, of course.

That's pretty much what I wrote earlier, too, which is that the most likely thing is that an injury crops up. That's the Cardinals way of handling these things. Unfortunately for us is that Franklin's last words (before to meltdown a couple of days ago) were fightin' words, sayin' that he still had his stuff, was still throwing good pitches. What we need is for him to face the man in the mirror and retire, but that might not happen.
So if Franklin won't go quietly into that good night, then it is either Batista or one of the young arms that must go. So, I expect we'll continue to see Batista in clutch situations, at least until Tallet comes back and roster situation is decided.
As for Auggie, yes, 'for now'. Who knows what the future may bring? We sure didn't expect season ending surgery for Wainwright.

Right before he hit it, I thought "I dunno how good I feel about needing a big hit from Gerald Laird."
I don't know if the Cardinals are going anywhere this season, but I'm enjoying their determination right about now. I wonder how all this is going over in Cincinnati?
They'll have plenty of time to think about it after Josh Johnson decimates them tonight.
Johnson wasn't at his best tonight. The Reds rocked him for five hits in seven innings.
The last pitch he threw was supposedly 100 mph. Hmmm. I wonder if the Reds have turned up their gun for any particular reason ...

Now it's taken Mujica a half-dozen pitches to get the Reds back into the game.
Marty Brennaman's mentally-retarded son just said "the worm has turned."
Honestly, I've never cared to look long enough at a worm to know whether it can turn.

Oh, and Brandon Phillips' intro song tonight is "Fuck You" by Cee Lo Green. I assume it's the censored version, but nevertheless ...

He's not going to walk away from a multi-million dollar contract when the alternative is selling insurance. As Fors indicated, he'll be given every opportunity to pitch himself out of a job, and they can't just send him to Memphis to work out whatever issues he has.
And unlikely as it appears to us right now, there is a possibility Franklin fixes whatever is wrong and becomes somewhat effective again. Pitchers have had bad months before.

Augenstien shouldnt have evn made the team over Salas.

Max, this is precisely the type of Larussian-behavior you talked about last week. He's putting the long-term good of the season in front of the benefit of winning today's game. They've already clinched a winning April, will have a chance to win this series regardless of what happens today, and are doing it against a non-division team.
And what I said the other day was that when he does this the team seems to find a way to win.

Sure wish it was easier to find the game on MLB TV. I signed up for this month but find it hard to locate the game
