Punto to the DL, Kozma to join the team
Kozma was hitting .220 for Triple-A Memphis with 17 RBIs in 38 games.
From 2007-2010, Kozma hit a combined .243 in the Cards' minor-league system.
Kozma has been regarded by scouts and coaches as an above-average infielder whose ability was hidden by the 34 errors he committed in Class AA last season.
Let the Rick Porcel... I mean Pete Kozma era begin.

Only a sportswriter could come up with that sentence.
You'd never read in the Health & Medicine section: "Dr. Butterfinger's skill as a surgeon is widely-acclaimed despite the 17 patients who died on his operating table last year."

This likely means more of Pujols at third an Craig at second.
Last night when Punto pinch hit I thought, How bad does Hamilton have to suck to get looked over in a pinch hitter situation for Punto.

In all fairness, Dr. Butterfinger had a much better Zone Rating than his competitors.

I didn't think of that at the time, but you have a point. And it's not like the Phillies are gauging their bullpen on whether they need to bring in a lefty to turn Punto around.

Now think about adding Kozma to the bench. It sucks. I would have called up Ramon Vazquez before Kozma. I assume he is only on the Redbirds for situtation like this when the major league team needs a quick fill in and he is hitting alright. Also Matt Carpenter is hitting decent again. Maybe now would be the time to bring him up and stick him at third fulltime. Instead they bring up a guy to try and justify a signing bonus.

I like the way you think. I don't know enough about this situation to comment, but this organization is dedicated to making every personnel decision look like it was a good idea, now matter the cost to performance.
