Lohse vs. Cy Norris
I won't be around for this one, but here's hoping Holliday remembers that he's Matt Holliday. He hasn't had a hit since Saturday.

If it was really no big deal to play Pujols at third would you switch up the infield.
Craig 1st
Descalso 2b
Pujols 3b
Theriot SS

I think playing AP at 3rd is risky, but if the big boys deem it so , so be it . Probably switch Berkman and Craig though .

Norris has been pitching pretty well against the rest of the league this year. Let's hope that's a sign he's saved his lousy starts for the Cardinals.

The Asstros counter with their *offensive* lineup:

2. Sanchez, 2B
3. Pence, RF
4. Lee, LF
5. Wallace, 1B
6. Johnson, 3B
7. Barmes, SS
8. Quintero, C
9. Norris, P

He owes us a few. If it wasnt for the Cardinals he might not even be in the league.

Mark Hamilton in LF? WTF?
I thought Korby was medically cleared to play, and assumed Jay was playing because he had been doing well and to give Korby a little more rest.
To recap, we have first basemen playing 2B, LF and RF; second basemen playing SS and 3B; and Pujols, Molina and Jay actually playing in position.
This should be interesting.

In Cincinnati, Charlie Morton is silencing the Reds. The FS Ohio announcers are picking up the slack by complaining about the evil Cardinals for the fifth consecutive day.

Kozma looked nervous enough at the plate to soil himself, but that was a good at bat.

To update, they now have an infielder in right, and a shortstop making his major league debut at second base, a second baseman at short, a second baseman at third, and a first baseman in left.
Thank goodness Lohse is making none of it matter so far.

I'm at Bob's game. What happened to Berkman?

Came out of the game after making a diving catch on a shallow fly ball. He apparently hurt his wrist.
Tomorrow's lineup could be one we hardly envisioned back in April.

i don't think people on the team are saying it's no big deal. just the opposite: it should be rare.

The Berkman situation has people concerned. MRI today. Keep your fingers crossed.

This was about the time last year that Brad Penny got hurt and it really slowed the team down. St. Louis can't catch a break in May.

From what I was told the Berkman injury could be Penny-esque. The MRI will provide the answers.

Crap. Something like this is what we all feared. As much as I thought otherwise when he was signed, he's really been the guy that's kept the offense going so far and losing him would be a bad break.
Yet another reason why I was never destined to be a general manager ...

If the MRI has been done and they're saying day-to-day, that's a really good sign. What I heard last night was that he either had a sprain (in which case he'd be day-to-day) or a torn tendon (in which case he would've missed 3-4 months).
The x-ray can't detect tendon issues, but the MRI can. So hopefully it came back negative.
