I can guarantee you there is absolutely no correlation between shootings and watching porn. =D

Seriously hope Martinez gets the W here.... Throw 7 scoreless and hit a home run to get through there with a 1-0 lead..... Have to win this for him.

They have certainly been pretty terrible lately..... I'm about to the point where I'd sell half the team....

Throwball is a good way to describe it without getting offensive to any remaining fans I guess. I miss hitting too much to get into today's NFL. Now the plays I miss are penalties and ejections....

First Super Bowl I didn't watch. I read about it. Looks like there was 1 punt, and both defenses combined to make 1 play?

I believe myself that the playoffs should include the conference championship games. The winners of the power 5 roll on, and you get another 6 teams to choose from who will play each other on conference championship week to get the other 3 (these can include any team, Alabama, UCF, a great independent). It only excludes any team playing for a conference title. That leaves you with 8, rolling into the typical bowl weeks. The Conference Champions were decided on the 12/1 weekend.... You have plenty of time between then and yesterday to run 8 teams together to get to 4, 4 to 2, and then play yesterdays game. And in doing so, you're really working with a 16 team field, not 4.... That's the logical landing point to me, but we'll see what happens.

I do love reading this board I tell you. This really was pretty priceless.
"Yeah, I think the guy who answers the phone in the bullpen is 50 percent of the problem. At least."

I honestly feel that the gap between us and Chicago is big, and everyone sees it. Stanton by himself wasn't going to get us competitive with them, and he knew that. The Yankees? They'll spend whatever it takes. The Dodgers are already solid. The Cubs are very good now, with Stanton, they are serious winners... The Cardinals? Well we might get to 90 wins with him. Maybe catch a wildcard? Unless we had other moves made though, we don't look like a hot ticket team you want to jump on... It's a bummer, or it isn't depending on where you are. The thing that's beginning to really stink though is we are constantly making big offers that do not turn into players coming here. Price, Pujols, Heyward, Stanton... That trend sucks, and Stanton hit a new low for us where we offered enough, but the player was like ".... uhhhh no". To be fair though, he was upfront about where he wanted to play from the start, and Miami started shopping him to teams he didn't mention. He met with them, handled it well, and then came back and said, "No thank you". In the end, Miami did exactly what he told them they'd be doing at the start... Welcome to a no trade clause.

Tony Larussa is at my job today. I have to make a 5.00 animal donation, then I can meet him, snap a picture, shake his hand, and beg him to take his old job back. I'm sure it will end well.

It's unfortunate, but the situation is settled. I don't like it, but that's what happened. The people of Tulsa will get to live with this case and the results, and hopefully nothing else happens.

I had a mountain of stuff to say about this. Mostly about questioning why a DA would go after a 1st degree charge knowing they couldn't satisfy the burden of proof. Possibly done on purpose? Puts the DA in a possibly corrupt looking place to me. The tragedy above all is this officer who was just given a pass for killing someone is back to work with a gun. If the jurors write letters that point blank say that they aren't comfortable with her being blameless, and they were "forced" to say not guilty, then she most certainly is not "innocent" in the realm of public trust. Take her badge, retire her. I do not feel comfortable with her writing parking tickets at this point. She might need to kill someone else.
AP before you reply, I'm positive you disagree with probably everything I've said, and that's okay. I respect your opinion, and normally I'm pro-officer. I'm not going to fight with you about this again. She's innocent, like OJ, Casey Anthony, and Aaron Hernandez (of the double murder anyway).

Definitely appreciate that! We're still living, she sleeps a whole lot more than she used to and has a pharmacy of meds she takes. Scans however are still showing her in remission, which can stop tomorrow or 20 years from now really, depending on when this decides it wants to grow again.

I would love to tell you I was upset about the playoff run, I wasn't. This team was floundering trying to hold on to 8th in the west when they fired Hitchcock. So to finish with a 6 game second round exit isn't a disappointment. I think they need a bigger presence in front of the net, and having Fabbri back would help a lot, but a lot of great pieces are in place. So at the end of it I have nothing to say but "great effort".

While I've often been an outspoken advocate for the Cardinals execution in the past, I was not actually being literal about it. This wasn't me!

I don't know if Heyward is ready to take on Fowler, who's beating the Pirates by himself today.

I saw a headline that his former agent says there's no way "Chico" would have killed himself. To which I reply, I hope his agent is right. He deserved to be executed. I don't care how good he was at football, he was broken in a very scary way and needed to go. Like Bundy broken.

Seeing a little grumbling about this, seems a few people are wondering if Molina is applying a sticky material to the ball which would be quite genius, as I've never heard of anyone checking the catchers gear over when this is suspected... I'm really hoping that's not the case, but I don't have any explanations for why a ball would stick like that one did.... With weather around 53 degrees....

And game 1 is in the books, the Cardinals haven't lost yet, the Cubs haven't won yet, and I already hate Jeff Passan and ESPN for the Cubs gush. Gonna be a long year. I think I could wish the Cubs well a lot more easily if it wasn't for these guys trying to ram them down my throat like some type of Borg assimilation attempt....

That's about the best way to define my feelings on this as possible. I'm borderline contemptuous for what the young man wasted, but he paid a very dear price for the mistake and it seems evil to point a blaming finger at a man who died for his mistakes.

It's still very sad that this happened, but you have to make better decisions than that if you want to stay alive, even if you are an incredible young pitcher....

So I guess someone stole Brady's super bowl jersey??? I thought originally the EQ manager had it, but it looks like it really is missing. That's a bit sad to me, I hope they catch the clown.
At the end of the day, I still hate the Patriots, but they were down 28-3 in the 3rd quarter, and came back to win that game. I have no idea how totally. Everything had to go right for that to even have a remote chance, and it did.... Atlanta kicking themselves out of field goal range, generating that turnover, 2 2-point conversions, defensive stops, winning the coin toss, Brady marching down the field time after time.
I have always hated Tom Brady, but what I saw there was the greatest thing I've ever seen a quarterback do in the biggest game there is. I'm pretty sure the greatest of all time debate is over. Like hockey, we're all going to have to ask "Who's number 2"?
