Good grief.

I'm starting to like this Furcal

Good thing both teams' bullpens are fresh. This game has 18-16 written all over it.

OK, back in March, who had the Cardinals scoring three runs in an inning on a double by Corey Patterson, a single by Edwin Jackson and a homer by Rafael Furcal on Aug. 4?

Goddamn you have any idea what kind of odds you could have gotten for that $1.00 bet?
50,000 - 1?

Jackson struck out the side! Let's go inning number 3!

I may have to take back my opinion that it was a nothing trade. Having him at short takes this to team from a poor fielding team to a good one.

For the love of God just walk McGehee.

Edwin Jackson is now 2 for 2.

Yadi... what the fuck was that...

Not sure I agree with letting Jackson bat in the 5th with runners on 2nd/3rd and nobody out while down 3 runs....

You may have the 18 part right.

I realize some of you don't want to look ahead to next year yet, but if Furcal plays well I wonder what it would take to bring him back. Given his recent injury history, I can't imagine anyone wanted to give him a long term deal.
This year we paid Theriout and Schu $6M to play 2B/SS. I wonder if you could have Furcal and Descalso for something near or less than that cost? Suddenly a pourous middle infield would look pretty good.

So, Jackson is not who we thought he was?

As poorly as he pitched, Jackson earned his first LaRussa bucks by going seven.

He's pitching in the superior National League now.

Is Theriout signed beyond this season?

No, he's on a 1 year deal

Why is Nathan Axford Forrest pitching with a 5-run lead?

Maybe it's just me, but yesterday's start seemed a lot like a Jose DeLeon Special: eat about seven innings and give up about eight runs. Only Jackson was worse.
