Well, that worked, but just barely.

Let's hope this cold weather works for the Cardinals, too. That's the second ball that gets out on a warm night.

Fuck. That ball Furcal hit would've been a home run last week.

I think Salas is fried. Go to Scrabble here, La Russa.

Really not liking the way Salas is throwing. Hope we get out of this.

Zep's lookin' good.

Even if Scrabble gives up a hit to German, it was still stupid for Washington to go with him here.

For now on, I'm calling Scrabble "Zoso."

Colby who???

Washington just burned Gonzalez for Jon Freaking Jay? Has he been watching this game?

It's a good thing my DVR caught up when it did. I'm not sure if it's a U-verse thing or if it's the entire St. Louis area, but my guide shows the local news starting at 9:30. Apparently someone thought Carp was going to finish this in about 2 hours.

Darn, the infamous slippery center field grass didn't quite do its job there.

In September, I was pretty lukewarm on Dotel being back in 2012, but now I think they have to. I don't think he's in danger of losing his effectiveness ala Franklin.

I'm still worried about A-Train, though.

I really want Rhodes to get this out. Do it for your son, Arthur.

I had this discussion with someone the other day. I have a feeling that Dotel becomes the compromise when Larussa wants a big money closer. The team says "no," but brings back Dotel as an insurance policy in case Motte, salas or Sanchez can't get it done.
Think Arthur Rhodes enjoyed that?

I'd be fine with that. $3.5 million is a lot for Dotel, but he's still a very good reliever and they need dependable arms.

Well done Rhodes. I hope that felt good.

I hope Reds fans enjoyed Rhodes getting an out in the World Series. Lord knows it wasn't going to happen in Cincinnati.

I don't know this for certain, but I have to suspect Rasmus gets a ring if the Cards win. And I'm almost positive he'll get a significant share.
I also read somewhere that Rhodes gets a ring regardless since he played for Texas most of the season.

I'm a bit nervous that Motte does not match up well against Texas. I'd like to see some insurance runs here.

How often do you think AL defenses practice their bunt defense?

i recall an anecdote about la russa and the coaches discussing russel branyan's share, that made it sound like there is a lot of discretion there.
