Good move by Matheny.

Is Carlos' sore little piggy still bothering him, or does he need a rest after playing 15 whole innings in two days?

I think Matheny is going to be pretty committed to resting him a lot. And they have to keep Adams sharp, too.
What happened in this Reds game? I come back and it's 4-0.

I have no idea who is pitching for the Yankees.

Kuroda was hit by a line drive. They were into the bullpen after 1.1 innings.

Right, I have just never heard of either of those guys pitching in relief. I love it.
Strauss offers this up from a scout he talked to:
Joe Strauss @JoeStrauss
After seeing Cards outfield defense scout offers: "They don't need Jon Jay in CF. They need Usain Bolt."

Freese is going to play in Memphis tomorrow, DH Friday and might play this weekend. I don't think he'll be active on Monday, though. Just a guess.
Double Plajols strikes in Cincinnati.

Lynn's stuff looks weak.

Lynn needs to get his head out of his ass. Soon.

Angels pitched to Votto with a base open and he hit one off Pujols' glove to drive in the winning run.

That walk was apparently the first time Brandon McCarthy has reached base in his professional baseball career. At any level.

That's some clutch shit right there.

Two hits for the Dirty One thus far ...

Lynn has to get better at throwing strikes. At this rate he's not going more than 5.

Terribly inefficient.

What's Lynn's pitch count? I'm busy freezing my ass off watching my kid play.

90 and there's no outs in the 5th.

I'm not seeing anything different from this Lynn and the Lynn from last summer.
Now another shot into the gap.

Helluva a first start. Done after giving up a single, double and triple in the fifth.
Knee-jerk reaction and all, but my guess is Lynn is the first non-injury pitcher bumped from the rotation. Hopefully they don't dawdle on this.

The Cardinals are going to have a brutal pitching staff this season.
