I don't remember that, but the U.S. is apparently the only country in the world that uses total medal count rather than just gold medals as the primary measurement.

I have a vague recollection of that. Thought it was Gold=5, Silver=3, Bronze=1.

You may be right. The particulars escape me as easily as Finnish shots escaped the USA defense.

You may be right. The particulars escape me as easily as Finnish shots escaped the USA defense.

"Defense," especially in the third period, being a malleable term.
