7/1 GC

Another rain delay. I read in the P-D that June was the wettest month on record or some nonsense. July isn't starting much better.

Re: 7/1 GC

Im really cautious on using starters after rain delays.  Almost to the point id never do it.

Someone has to pitch. You take into account the extra warmup pitches, but you don't have to cover these guys in bubble wrap. Except Garcia. I wouldn't let him walk across the street. He'd probably get hit by a bus.

Re: 7/1 GC

The Red Sox have to be loving that Porcello contract extension.  $21M per year for 4-9 and an ERA over 6.00

He gave up seven runs in two innings today.
On the plus side, David Ortiz is hitting again. Whenever Dan Shaughnessy writes a column in the Boston Globe that Ortiz might be done, about two weeks later he goes on a power binge. I wonder what that's all about?

I'm calling it a night. Or an early morning. I'm having knee surgery today (Thursday), so I may be in communicado for a couple of days.

Re: 7/1 GC

Flowers' only skill is turning on inside pitches and 2 nights in a row Molina calls for an inside pitch

Yeah, good luck with that.

Thanks to both of you. This was akin to a 75,000-mile tuneup. In by 9:30 a.m., home by 2:30 p.m.
But I got some good painkillers out of it.
