Checking in a little early today because the Pirates have an afternoon game in Colorado. Cubs are off.
Thursday, 6:15 p.m. RH Michael Wacha (16-6, 3.08 ERA) vs. RH Taylor Jungmann (9-6, 3.31)
Friday, 7:15 p.m. RH Carlos Martinez (14-7, 3.01) vs. RH Ariel Pena (2-0, 3.50).
Saturday, 6:15 p.m. LH Jaime Garcia (9-5, 2.45) vs. RH Wily Peralta (5-10, 4.72).
Sunday, 1:15 p.m. RH John Lackey (13-9, 2.74) vs. undecided.

I assume Siegrist in the 7th means Broxton in the 8th. I have no idea why Matheny is trying to force Broxton into that role. For every decent outing, he's had some real clunkers. I really don't trust him that much.

Im not a broxton fan at all. I know im getting caught up in the wainwright hoopla but i hope waino can reduce or eliminate broxton.

TK is 1000% right on Lyons over Choate. There is absolutely no reason to carry a guy who might (emphasis on might) be able to get out one batter.
It won't happen, but it should

Or not. That's the problem with Broxton. Every fifth game, he hits 97 with his fastball and throws that wicked slider. Very untrustworthy, though.
