meh. Not for me, happy to cheer the Cubs on. I'm just thrilled the Dodgers are sitting at home with their overpaid superstars.

 

I'm hoping MLB decides to go on strike and cancel the remainder of the postseason.

It's silly to try to predict anything at this point. I'm not sure if it was Darling or Ripken who said the Mets have a huge advantage because they've won the games in which Lester and Arrieta have pitched, but the Cubs get to play at home, where they're the ones who have a huge advantage.
And I know it was Darling who was trying to praise the Mets' pitching staff when he pointed out the Cubs hit 10 home runs in the LDS and have only hit one so far in the LCS, but only one of their homers in the LDS came in the first two games at a real park. The other nine were hit at Wrigley.

That was my analysis, not Darling's. Darling was trying to praise the Mets' pitching staff for not giving up home runs to the Cubs in the first two games of the series. My point was that the Mets' staff has given up the same number of home runs as the Cardinals had in their first two games of their respective series with the Cubs, and now let's see how the Mets' pitching staff fares when they get to Wrigley, especially if the wind is blowing out like it was the night the Cubs hit six homers against the Cardinals.

I don't want to get into another discussion about whether or not Wrigley is a pitchers' park, especially now that you're a Cubs' fan , but I'm not really disagreeing with you either. See my earlier comment about how the glorified slow pitch softball team they've put together is well-suited for Wrigley Field, and they're going to be tough to beat at home.

As a Dolphin fan, I hate the Patriots. As a Blues fan? I hate the Blackhawks.... 

As a Cardinal fan? I feel sorry for the Cubs. There's a difference there to me. 

I doubt this game ends 3-2, but it would be kind of funny if the Cubs lost because of a dropped third strike.

Euphoria and complacency can kill a playoff run faster than an injury.

It was nice to welcome the Cubs back to postseason, but someone needed to remind them that a ring takes 11 wins (12 for a wild card team) and they only had 4. Shame too, I think they are a better team than the one beating them up.

What the first 3 games of the series has reminded us is that there is some sense of randomness to a post-season series.  In 2006, no one could have predicted that the Tigers pitchers would prove utterly incompetent when asked to throw a baseball to a base other than home.  In 2011, no one could have predicted David Freese would do what he did.

This year, assuming the NLCS ends soon, Daniel Murphy stands to be the NLCS MVP.  My guess is before the post-season started, Daniel Murphy was pretty far down on the list of people you would expect to win such an award.  No one can predict something like that.  Hell, Mrs. Daniel Murphy (assuming there is one) couldn't have predicted something like that.

Well 6 Wild Card teams (1994-Present) have been World Series Champions...

In a lot of ways, there's something to be said for legging out an insane season and fighting for your lives every day, and then going straight into postseason. It's a mental edge in my opinion. It's now outweighed by having to burn your ace pitcher in the 1 gamer before rolling into the playoffs against the leagues best.
