Balsa Wood Bats & Juiced Balls

I wonder what it is going to take before baseball takes steps:

A pitcher killed by a line drive to the noggin.

A third base coach or fan stabbed in the heart by a piece of bat.

and, while encarnacion was not the impact player that we had wanted, he wasn't bad, and what happened to him is totally inexcusable.  why isn't the on deck circle protected by plexiglass?

You could have a Get Smart "Cone of Silence" type of protective apparatus hanging from the cable that keeps the backstop upright.

"Dateline: St. Louis, MO - Cardinals' slugger Albert Pujols is out for the season due to injuries sustained when he ran into the on-deck chamber during Sunday's game against the Mexico City Pirates..."

But seriously, I agree there has to be a way to protect those guys.

I dont think a plexiglas enclosure is the answer. Miles would want plumbing installed so could do a shower dance before his AB.

This thing really needs to come up with a rec button

I don't think my eyes have ever shifted from one line of text to the next as quickly as they did about 90 seconds ago.

"the Mexico City Pirates...""

Which reminds me. I should have tried the "Talk Like a Pirate Day" thing yesterday with my mother-in-law.
Something about nailing her tits to the table if she didn't shut up.
Darrrrr ...
