and, while encarnacion was not the impact player that we had wanted, he wasn't bad, and what happened to him is totally inexcusable. why isn't the on deck circle protected by plexiglass?

You could have a Get Smart "Cone of Silence" type of protective apparatus hanging from the cable that keeps the backstop upright.
